The Earth is called the "Blue Planet" because of the abundance of water on the planet. However, less than 1% of the world's water is fresh water and readily accessible for human uses.
In addition to this, geographical distribution of fresh water is uneven. With other man-made factors such as lack of water supply infrastructure, supply of clean and safe drinking water is a problem in many parts of the world.
People in Hong Kong seem to take water for granted when water flows at the flip of a switch. Yet, water crisis is always threatening the globe. As one of the global citizens, both you and I could take actions to promote sustainable use of fresh water resources on the Earth.
